We welcome Golf Societies to play at Northwood with Thursdays being our preferred day. Please contact the office to arrange your visit.

Confirmation - Final numbers are to be notified to the Club at least 4 days before the visit. This number will be the minimum number charged for. The Club cannot guarantee to accommodate more players than originally booked. To comply with the Licensing Act 1964, please ensure that you have a list of names of all participants with you on the day of your visit.

Slow Play - It is the Organiser’s responsibility to choose formats that encourage continuous play. Stableford can be much more enjoyable than stroke play – fourball medals are not allowed. For societies playing 36 holes, it is recommended that at least one round is foursomes or greensomes.

The course - Northwood Golf Club is a comparatively difficult course, an official handicap is preferred, or at least a creditable society one.  All players are expected to be able to play to a reasonable standard and will not hold up play.

Payment of Account – A deposit of £200 is payable on confirmation of the booking with the outstanding account being settled in full on the day of the meeting.  Payment can be made by cash, debit card or by bank transfer (our bank details available on request)

Security -  Northwood Golf Club has a “Keypad” type security system on all doors.  An allocated security number for the day will be given to you a week in advance when confirming numbers of players. Please ensure your members are aware of this before they arrive.  The number will also be recorded in the Professional’s shop.

Catering – We have a range of packages available to supplement your visit. Before you play you can choose from just serving coffee to having a full English breakfast. Lunches and dinners range from sandwiches to a carvery or formal 3 course meals.

Dress and Mobile Phone Guidelines

In the Clubhouse

Our clubhouse favours a relaxed atmosphere, where the dress code is smart but casual. We wish to establish an atmosphere that you can enjoy with friends and family. Smart denims are permitted in the clubhouse as long as they are neat and tidy (avoiding ripped jeans or cut off denims). Other recognised tailored sportswear is also considered acceptable.

Mobile phones are permitted in the clubhouse. We just ask you to be discreet and request that all phone conversations take place away from drinking and dining areas. Please ensure your phone is on silent.  Free WIFI access is available.

On the Course

Recognised golf attire is appropriate, as dictated by golf fashion and convention for both men and ladies.

The use of mobile phones on the course is prohibited except in the case of an emergency.

The following are inappropriate at Northwood Golf Club

  • Tracksuits, paramilitary clothing, and beach wear.
  • Short socks, other than white or colour coordinated sports socks when worn with shorts.
  • Bare midriffs
  • No footwear
  • Shirts without collars or not tucked in, with the exception of fitted shirts designed to be worn untucked.
  • Golf headwear worn back to front or in the clubhouse
  • The wearing of golf shoes in the clubhouse other than in the spike bar
  • The changing of clothing or footwear anywhere other than in the locker rooms (except when the locker rooms are closed)

We hope your visit to our club is enjoyable.
